Francyl Gawryn received her BA at Marylhurst University in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in music and religious studies. She began composing and performing her own works professionally at the age of 15. Since then she has written and performed a repertoire of dozens of sacred vocal solos in churches and concert halls throughout the United States and internationally. Her anthem, "Carry the Witness, Honor the Dream," was chosen as the Washington State Silent Witness Anthem in 1999 and was performed at the March Against the Silence at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. In 2000 she received the Nell Shippman Award for Technical Excellence for a Film Score. She writes and performs music for audiences of all ages. Her compositions include orchestral film cues, chamber music, choral works, guitar/vocal solos, children's songs, and instrumental solos. Manuscripts of all compositions are available by contacting her through this web site. Currently she works as the Director of Youth and Children's Ministries at a non-denominational church in Boulder City, Nevada. She also teaches music and performs throughout the Las Vegas valley for worthy causes. Recordings of her works include: *"Carry the Witness, Honor the Dream" the Washington State Silent Witness Anthem * "Pondpaddler's Fandango" a CD for children, * "Love Songs of Heaven and Earth," and * "Songs My Father Taught Me" "The Feminine Journey" CD, planned for release in the fall of 2015, contains original vocal, choral and instrumental works illustrating significant moments along the journey path of the feminine Spirit.
