Francyl Gawryn

Francyl Gawryn received her BA at Marylhurst University in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in music and religious studies. She began composing and performing her own works professionally at the age of 15. Since then she has written and performed a repertoire of dozens of sacred vocal solos in churches and concert halls throughout the United States and internationally. Her anthem, "Carry the Witness, Honor the Dream," was chosen as the Washington State Silent Witness Anthem in 1999 and was performed at the March Against the Silence at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. In 2000 she received the Nell Shippman Award for Technical Excellence for the film Score, "Curro." She writes and performs music for audiences of all ages. Her compositions include sacred songs, liturgical works, orchestral film cues, chamber music, choral works, guitar/vocal solos, children's songs, and instrumental solos. Manuscripts of all compositions are available by contacting her through this web site. Currently she works as the Associate Pastor and Director of Music Ministries at Grace Community Church in Boulder City, Nevada. She teaches music and performs throughout the Las Vegas valley for worthy causes, and is the conductor for the Interfaith Peace Choir of Southern Nevada.  Recordings of her works include: *"Carry the Witness, Honor the Dream" the Washington State Silent Witness Anthem * "Pondpaddler's Fandango" a CD for children, * "Love Songs of Heaven and Earth," "Songs My Father Taught Me," and "The Feminine Journey" CD.  Her most recent recording "Beloved," recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London and Mirror Sound Studios in Seattle was released in the fall of 2019.
